Amaryllis Birthday Wishes

When I received my Honey Bee Stamps order they sent a free amaryllis image. The sentiment on the panel was for Christmas, but I wanted to turn it into a birthday card so I cut it down with a stitched oval die.

I searched the web for images of amaryllis flowers and decided to color min with a red, which has a dark center. When the coloring was complete I wanted to emphasis the lines on the pot so I pulled out a white gelly roll pen to add white lines.

I went through my cardstock to find something that went well with the colors used on the flower and decided on Gina K. Designs Tomato Soup cardstock. I ink blended the edges to be a little darker. To add some visual interest behind the oval focal image the tomato soup panel was dry embossed with Stampin' Up's Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and then adhered to a top folding white cardbase.

Low loft foam tape was added to the back of the oval, which then adhered to the tomato soup panel.

The sentiment had been hot foiled previously and I pulled it out of my stash and adhered to the base of the flower.

I didn't have any sequins that matched the flower, so I pulled out some yellow ones and colored them with the darkest red Copic Marker. Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the centers, as well as to the stamen and the card was done.
