This is the season for high school graduations. I recently got an announcement for my niece's daughter. I like to personalize the cards with their school colors.
Jade's are purple, silver, and white. this year I've been using Simon Says Stamp Class Act stamp and die set. I create a striped background with the school colors using the Simon Says Stamp Strips 1 and 2 dies. This time I decided to use various widths for Jade's school colors. Once the strips are die cut I adhered them to a piece of computer paper with dotliner adhesive and then cut down the panel using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die that cover the entire front of an A2 card front.
The cape and gown were stamped onto the same purple cardstock as some of the strips in the background with a darker purple ink so you can see the details on the hat and gown. The coordinating dies were used to cut out the stamped images, as well as some sticky back foam to add dimension when adhering to the card front.
The cap and gown needs a neutral background to be able to be seen on the striped background I used a stitched rectangle and extended the length so it would be long enough for the image. The cap and gown were adhered to the rectangle with liquid glue and the rectangle was then adhered to the striped background with dotliner adhesive.
I stamped the sentiment several ways. Purple ink on white, purple ink on gray, and white heat embossed on purple. I decided I liked the purple on white best. It was cut into a banner using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label Die and adhered over the graduation gown on the same angle as the striped background.
The finishing touch was to scatter silver crystal drops around the image and card front. I used leftover strips on the envelope and stamped a small sentiment there as well.
