Dad - You're a Classic

This is the last Father's Day card I made for my neighbor. She really didn't say what she wanted, so I went through my images that made great masculine cards and decided to us this Corvette from Honey Bee Stamps Car Show. Blue seems to be a safe color for masculine card.

I first stamped the image onto navy mirror cardstock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. You couldn't really see the image on the dark mirror cardstock. So, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock. I think this is the best ink to use when coloring with Copic Markers; Once the coloring was complete the image was cut out using the coordinating die. I decided to fussy cut around the image and adhere it on top of the previously stamped image on the blue mirror cardstock. I liked the way that looked.

For the sentiment I cut the word "dad" from the blue mirror cardstock and then stamped "You're a Classic" onto white cardstock with navy blue ink and then cut it with the coordinating die. I decided to adhere it to a scrap of blue mirror cardstock with dotliner adhesive and fussy cut around the sentiment.

The Corvette die was used to cutout some blue sticky back foam. I trimmed the edges down a little so that it could be adhered behind the car and not be seen. I cut the word "dad" from the same sticky back foam. Strips of sticky back foam was a to the "You're a Classic" sentiment, making sure there wasn't any foam where the two sentiments would be adhered together.

A rectangle of white cardstock was cut using the Pink Fresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangle, which add hash lines to the edges of the card. It was matted with blue mirror cardstock. The front of a side folding A2 cardbase was dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder. The hash line rectangle was adhered in place with liquid glue. The car and the sentiments were adhered to the rectangle with liquid glue. The final embellishment was to add glossy accents to the windows on the car, along with the bumper and hub caps.
