My wonderful young friend Kaylee is turning sixteen. Her favorite color is pink and this pink cake is for her.
I cut the body of the cake from a light pink cardstock and the frosting from a medium pink and white cardstock. The edges were ink blended to add depth and dimension. Where the stitch hole were at I used a white gel pen to add foe stitched lines. The white frosting was adhered in place with liquid glue and the pink frosting was adhered with low loft foam tape to add some dimension.
The candles were cut from the light pink cardstock and edges ink blended. The stitching on the candles were highlighted with a gold get pen. This complimented the sprinkles that were cut from gold mirror cardstock, along with the sentiment. The platter was also cut from gold mirror cardstock and the cake was adhered to it with liquid glue.
The flower was cut from the medium pink cardstock and the leaves from a scrap of green. a gold circle was added to the center of the flower
A panel of white cardstock was cut with a scalloped rectangle and adhered to a dark pink cardfront. The cake was laid in place to determine where to adhered the sentiment with liquid glue. The cake was then adhered in place with foam tape.
At the last minute I decided to add the numbers "16" cut from gold mirror cardstock to personalize the card just for Kaylee.
