This is another card I made with the WPlus9 Darling Dahlias stamp set. This time I used the individual flowers and leaves. This card is for my best friend from high school. Her favorite colors are red and yellow, so the images were stamped with red, yellow, and green inks and then colored with Copic Markers. The lines were softened by the alcohol and so they were stamped again with a darker ink color and then fussy cut.
I've had this braided oval die sitting in my drawer for awhile and decided to use it on this card. The flowers and leaves were arranged how I liked them and then adhered in place with both liquid glue and foam tape.
A rectangle of red cardstock was cut to 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive. Liquid glue was added to the back of the oval focal image and it was adhered on the red panel.
I have a stash of hot foiled sentiments on hand. I always make a lot when I'm foiling and keep them on hand to use on future cards. It was adhered to the bottom of the flowers with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
I decided the red panel needed some additional interest, so the edges were ink blended, first with a red ink and then with a dark purple since the red didn't give enough contrast.
Iridescent crystals were scattered around the arrangement and the card was done.
When I was putting away this card I really didn't like the layout. I felt it had too much open space in the upper right. It felt like a sentiment needed to be stamped there, but I already had a sentiment strip. So, I decided to add another flower and I like this layout much better.
