My wonderful grandson Seth loves everything vintage. Vintage/classical music, vintage clothing, and vintage cars. He has been looking for a vintage car he and his dad can fix up. His favorite is the Ford Thunderbird, so I went looking for a digital stamp for his birthday card and found this one from Tom's Colorful Life.
I printed the image with a laser printer and then colored it with Copic Markers. I first searched on the internet for colors of this vintage car and decided on this light blue, since that is his favorite color.
The image was fussy cut with scissors and Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back.
The main sentiment was created in the Silhouette Cameo software, cut four times, and adhered together with liquid glue. The secondary sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of cardstock that was colored with the same blue as the card and heat embossed white. It was cut into a strip using a Pink and Main Sentiment Strip and foam tape was added to the back as well.
I wanted a background to the car that would be in keeping with the vintage feel and decided to use the Sizzix Woven 3D Embossing Folder. A rectangle from silver mirror cardstock was cut using an A2 die and then embossed. To give the vintage feel, VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink was run across the surface and then embossed with clear embossing powder. It was adhered to a side folding black cardbase. The car and sentiments were then adhered in place.
Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen was added to the bumpers and other metal pieces of the car. I decided I wanted the card to be shiny, so I used a VersaMark Pen on the car and then clear embossed it as well. I did this three times to give a smooth finish to embossing. At the last minute I decided to use glossy accents for the windows of the car.
