This card is for Ava who is turning fourteen. Her favorite color is light blue.
I pulled out the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Party Hat and Party Blower dies, along with the coordinating stencil for the hats. I cut them from a light blue cardstock and then added patterns with a darker blue ink.
I had purchase the polka dot paper recently from JoAnn's going out of business sale. (How sad is that.) It wasn't quite the same hue of blue so I ink blended over the paper and then added the polka dots back with a white gelly roll pen.
A panel of white cardstock was cut down with an oval die and dry embossed with the Spellbinders Floating Balloons folder. It was adhered to a top folding cardbase with liquid glue.
Foam tape was added to the back of the hats and blower. They were adhered in place with foam tape.
The word happy was cut from the polka dot paper and then four times from white cardstock. The white layers were cut off where they would overlap the hat, so only the polka dot layer was a complete word. Before adhering the word in place, the secondary greeting was stamped with blue ink.
Blue rhinestones were added to the pom poms on the hats. White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops were added to the dots on one of the hats.
