Happy Birthday to You Balloons

I've had this stamp set from Avery Elle for ages. Usually I just use the matching dies to cutout balloons, but there are stamps that include sentiments. This time I decided to stamp the balloon with Distress Oxide Inks. Once the ink was dry I added balloon strings with gold thread.

I added Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape behind the blue balloon. The green and yellow balloons were adhered together with liquid glue and then 3M 1/2" Foam Tape was added to the back.

A rectangle of white cardstock was cut with a stitched rectangle die and then dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Spots and Dots Embossing Folder. The balloons were adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam. The balloon strings were pulled to the back and adhered in place with a little Scotch Tape. The focal image rectangle was adhered to the front of a top folding cardbase with liquid glue.

I decided to add glossy accents to the balloons, but because it was such a large surface there were bubbles in the balloons, that I just couldn't get to pop. So, I decided to add some Crystal Glitter. It definitely covered up the bubbles, but I'm not sure how much I love the end results. I have to remind myself that every card doesn't have to be a masterpiece.
