I've been gone for quite sometime. We moved from Washington State to San Antonio, Texas, to be closer to our daughters in our old age. We were in our 5th wheel trailer for several months while we search for a home. We have finally moved in and my craft room is set up for creating again. I've really missed it.
The first cad I made was for my daughter Janae, whose birthday is January 1st. Her favorite color is aqua/teal.
I recently purchased some flower stamps from Woodware Craft and decided to use one of them on this card. Using a MISTI I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento London Fog Ink and left the image in place. I colored the image with Copic Markers and then stamped again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Embossing powder can be hard on your marker nibs and using this two step method ensures that they remain in good condition.
I used an A2 stitched rectangle to cut down the image and matted it on some turquoise sea cardstock from Gina K. Designs. The panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 card base.
The sentiment was hot foiled using one of the sentiments from Spellbinders More Sentiments with Gemini Silver Shimmer Foil and cut into a banner and adhered to the card front with Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape. The final embellishment was to scatter some silver pearls on the card front.
