Hello Friend Diamonds

cardtheraphy51

Several years ago I took an Online Card Class where we stenciled a shaped repeatedly. I ran across a card I had created during that class and decided to use the technique again. I have created six different cards with this method.

For this card I used a square and turned it so that it made a diamond on the card. A stencil was created by selecting the size square I wanted and cut it from Kirkland Glossy Photo Paper. This makes a great stencil because it isn't too thick, but it holds up well to inking over and over again. You want to use the back of the paper for inking your shape.

I marked off the center of a quarter sheet of cardstock using a T-Square Ruler and a pencil. I then placed the square/diamond stencil where I wanted it on the panel and inked the center diamond, making sure to erase the pencil line before inking. I repeated this by shifting the diamond to the left or right, overlapping the shape slightly until the design covered the panel from left to right. Once the inking was done the panel was cut down with a stitched rectangle.

The word "hello" was cut from gold mirror cardstock, and again from blue sticky back foam. The two were adhered together by removing the backing paper on the foam. The secondary sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold. The die cut "hello" was glued to the front of the stenciled rectangle with liquid glue. A final embellishment was to add gold confetti to the center of the overlapped squares. The panel was matted with Gina K. Designs Blue Denim cardstock and adhered to a landscape white cardbase with dotliner adhesive.
