Large Party Hat It’s Your Day

Since I had now used the small and medium party hats from the Papertrey Ink Build-a-Party Hat die set I decided to create a card using the largest hat.

I found a rainbow chevron pattern and cut the party hat, making use the point of the chevron was in the center of the hat. I decided to use red and white glitter for the fringe and pom pom, off setting the layers.

A panel was white cardstock was cut down using a stitched rectangle die and dry embossed with a balloon pattern. It was adhered to a top folding cardbase with liquid glue and the party hat was adhered on a angled in the center of the rectangle.

The sentiment was cut from red glitter cardstock and three more times from white. The layers were adhered together with liquid glue and then it was adhered below the party hat.

I liked the card okay, but it lacked pizzazz. The die comes with streamers, so I cut some from a rainbow of glitter cardstock and adhered them around the hat. I liked this better, but It just needed a little something more, so I cut confetti sprinkles from gold glitter cardstock and added it between the streams. Finally, I liked the way it looked.
