Layered Stencil Happy Birthday

I recently purchased the Altenew Bitterroot Flower Layered Stencil. This stencil is not well labeled and was a challenge to know what layered where. After I used it once I marked the layers on the stencil with a Sharpie and it was much easier to use. There are two cards below. One was my first attempt and the second was after I made notations on the stencil.

I found the easiest way to use the stencil is to die cut the image first and then apply the layers of ink.

I originally thought I would give this card to my sister for her birthday, but I couldn't get a deep red flower with the colors of ink I used.

I cut a stitched scalloped rectangle and dry embossed it with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase using Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape. The stenciled flowers were added to the card front using liquid glue. The die set comes with two single flowers that can be stenciled and added to the arrangement or added on top of the larger flowers. I create two of the one flower and a single flower for the other. This allowed the bouquet to have three flowers in the arrangement. Two of the flowers were adhered over the flowers in the bouquet with foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. I didn't want a large banner on the card, so I fussy cut around the sentiment and added foam tape behind it to adhere it to the bottom of the card.

Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops were added to the flower centers. Wink of Stella was used to add some sparkle and the card was done.
