I have been blessed with the most amazing man for my husband. I count my blessings everyday that we are together. I got Simon Says Stamp's February card kit, which included the Love You Beary Much and Sweet Truffles stamp sets and decided to make him a Valentine's Day card.
I stamped the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, since I planned to color them with Copic Markers. Once the coloring was complete I fussy cut the images with scissors, cutting right next to the stamped lines. One of the sentiments from the Love You Beary Much stamp set was stamped with VersaMark Ink into the center of the heart the bear is holding and heat embossed white.
I picked one of the papers that came in the kit and cut it down using a stitched rectangle just smaller than an A2 cardbase. It was then adhered to a top folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive. I laid the cutout images on the card front to determine placement and adhered the candy hearts with liquid glue. The bear was adhered using 3M 1/2" Foam Tape. The truffles were adhered with Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape, which has a lower loft and allowed me to tuck them behind the sides of the bear.
I liked the way that the card was looking, but there was a lot of open space at the top, so I decided to create a banner with another of the sentiment in the stamp set. I cut the banner from Kraft cardstock and ink blended the edges with Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs Ink. The sentient was stamped with Distress Oxide Candied Apple Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing blower. The banner was adhered to the top left of the card using Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape. A little glossy accents was added to the letters in the banner, the bear's nose, and the accents on the truffles.
