I needed some more feminine birthday cards. I love creating beautiful cards using Spellbinders flower dies. This card uses the Club Blooms from January 2023.
I cut the flowers from red, pink, and purple cardstock and the leaves from scraps of green cardstock. A matte gold cardstock was used for the flower centers.
Whenever I create with die cuts I like to ink blend the layers to add dimension and visual interest.
I used a couple of oval dies to create a frame. I originally cut it from a dark purple but didn't like the way it looked with the red flowers, so I cut it again from black and really liked the result.
I laid the frame on a white cardbase to arranged the flowers and leaves the way I liked them. This way I could determine where to stamp the sentiment. Once I'm happy with the arrangement I take a picture to remind me of how things were laid out.
Once the sentiment had been stamped the front of the cardbase was dry embossed with a linen look folder. Foam strips were used behind the frame and it was adhered to the front of the cardbase. Then the flowers and leaves were adhered in place as designed witha. combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
