Mountain Air Thinking of You

I think nature scenes make beautiful masculine thinking of you cards. For these two cards I pulled out the Stampin' Up Mountain Air stamp set. I created a landscape card, stamping the images of the set onto some Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.

I grew up near the Teton Mountain, which are part of the Rocky Mountain Range They are majestic and beautiful, no matter the time of year and there is always snow on the peaks. I decided to have the images of the trees and mountains reflective in a mountain lake.

I wanted the sun to rise from the background of the mountains so I used a circle die and cut some masking tape and placed it behind the mountains before stamping. I stamped the mountains with a light grey and ink blended a very light purple cast to them. They stamp was reversed and stamped again with blue ink to show the reflections of them in the water. The tree line was stamped in front of the mountains with green ink and reversed and stamped again with a second generation of the green ink. A VersaMark Pen was used to add embossing ink to the tops of the mountains and white embossing ink was added to add snow to the peaks.

Two different Distress Oxide Inks were used to ink blend the sky and water. Once the sky was blended the circle of masking tape was removed and the negative circle was put in place and the sun was ink blended with yellow. A trio of birds was stamped twice on the image with black ink.

The image was then cut down using a stitched rectangle die to make two different cards. Each image was matted with white cardstock that had been ink blended a darker blue than the sky and then cut down to be 1/8" larger than the image. The sentiment was stamps multiple times with the same ink used for the water.

Going with outdoor feel to the card the Stampin' Up Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder was used to emboss the front of an A2 top folding cardbase. Sticky back foam was added to the back of the image and it was adhered in place using liquid glue.

I decided to add a die cut tree to the edge of the image. It was cut from green cardstock and shading was added with green inks using a Waffle Flower Shaker Brush. It was adhered hanging off the edge of the image with liquid glue.
