I like pulling out old dies and creating new cards with them. This time I decided to make a shaker card using the Spellbinders Party Cupcake Pocket die.
I took a panel of ivory cardstock that had been cut down with a stitched rectangle die and cut the cupcake from it. I then embossed the panel with a swiss dots folder. Acetate was added to the back of the panel. The cupcake wrapper was cut from red and ivory polka dot paper and adhered to the front of the acetate. The swirls were cut from ivory and the frosting from dark brown cardstocks and adhered with liquid glue. The candle was cut from red cardstock and the flames from gold glitter cardstock. They were adhered together and then tucked under the frosting.
The sentiment was cut three times from red cardstock and adhered together with liquid glue. It was adhered below the cupcake with the same glue.
A rectangle of dark brown cardstock was cut 1/4" larger than the focal image rectange.
The ivory cupcake panel was turned over and 3M 1/2" Foam Tape was added to the back, making sure to add a strip just below the wrapper so that the shaker elements would be seen at all times. Different colors of red seed beads were added to the well and the brown rectangle was adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam tape.
