I love this stacked birthday sentiments from Concord & 9th. Usually it is paired with the matching balloons that nestle into the open spaces, but I wanted to use different balloons on this card. I recently saw Mindy Eggen doing some rainbow ink blending with Gina K. Designs ink cubes and decided to give it a try.
I used red and orange for the first balloon, then yellow and green, then for the third a combination of turquoise, blue, and purple. The same colors were used on the sentiment.
Since I create a lot of birthday cards and frequently use balloons, I recently purchased Waffle Flower's Balloon Ties and really like the way they look trailing from the bottom of the balloons.
Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the balloons and the sentiment was cut from the foam and the the rainbow sentiment and foam tape were adhered together by removing the backing paper.
I decided to add some visual interest behind the elements on the card and dry embossed the card front with the Cuttlebug Oxford folder. Everything was then adhered in place with liquid glue. Since there is a lot of texture on the card, heavy stamping block were placed on top to help secure it down until the glue dried.
