I've had this panel of striped paper sitting on my desk since Valentine's Day. I decided it was time to put it to use.
I stamped the cake slice from Impression Obsession with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored it with Copic Markers to match the striped paper. The stamp doesn't have a coordinating die, so I fussy cut it out with detail scissors.
A sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of the burgundy cardstock and heat embossed gold. It was cut out with a sentiment label die.
A scalloped frame was cut from the lightest pink cardstock in the striped background. The striped panel was cut to be 1/8" smaller. Foam tape was added to the back of the scalloped frame and the striped panel was adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam. The sentiment was adhered onto a matching burgundy strip on the background with liquid glue. The cake was adhered above the sentiment with foam tape.
I didn't like the way the focal image panel looked on a white cardbase, so a quarter sheet of the burgundy cardstock was cut and adhered to the front of the cardbase with dotliner adhesive and the panel was then adhered in place with dotliner adhesive.
