This is a leftover flower from my previous card. I think it is important to remember that one flower can make a pretty card if you make the background smaller so that it doesn't get lost on a full size card.
This time I decided to make a shaped card. I used the largest oval from the Spellbinders Essential Ovals die and cut it from heavy white cardstock. Overlapping the top so allow for a fold in the card. When you make a shaped card this way to cover up the flat area at the top you simply cut another of the same size shape and adhere it on top. I chose to cut it again from a pink cardstock to emphasize the pink in the flower.
A smaller oval was cut from white cardstock and dry embossed to add some dimension and visual interest. The flower was adhered in place with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
The sentiment had been previously hot foiled and was adhered with foam tape. A few gold confetti pieces were scattered around the image.
I thought the card was done, but then I decided to create a thin white frame. I thought I had selected the same size as the cardbase and the next smaller die, but I used the size just smaller than the card and really liked the way it turned out.
