I just heard that a good friends of our from Richland just underwent surgery for cancer. Fortunately they said they got it all and she has a great prognosis for the future. I wanted to send her a card that let her know we are thinking of her and sending her prayers.
Rosa's favorite color is pink, so I pulled out the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Rose die set and cut it from pink cardstock. I always add ink blending to my layers. I think the flowers are pretty without blending, but they are flat and lifeless. Once the ink blending was done the layers the edges of the petals were curled a little with a small paint brush and then the layers were adhered together with liquid glue.
The rose flower is quite large and this is the first time I've created a card with two roses, but I light the way it turned out.
To add visual interest behind the flowers a quarter sheet of white cardstock was cut using the Spellbinders Candlewick Rectangle Die. I love the pretty decorative edge that it adds. I decided to make it with pink cardstock and adhered it to a top folding gray cardbase. The flowers and leaves were adhered in place with liquid glue.
I pulled out a previously hot foiled sentiment and added it below the flowers with foam tape. A few pink sequins were scattered around the flowers and the card was done.
