I had seen a card created by Laura Bassen where she used a panel of white cardstock where the negative of the candles were cut from. Foam tape was added to the back for dimension and then a rainbow of small strips of cardstock behind were added to the card front strategically to be behind the openings. I decided to create a card using this method.
After I added the strips of color to the card front, I masked off the edges and then added gold splatter to the candle strips.
The panel with the negative candle openings was cut down with a stitched rectangle die. Foam tape was added to the back and then remove to adhered the panel in place over the colorful strips. The candle flames were cut from gold glitter cardstock and adhered in place with liquid glue.
The sentiment was cut three times from black cardstock and adhered together and into place with liquid glue and the card was done.
