I love making cards and I make a lot of them, but I have more than I can use. I called one of our local assisted living centers and asked them if they could use some birthday cards. They said that would love them, they give cards to each of their residents on their birthday. So I went to work creating some cards for seniors.
I began by ink blending a panel of cardstock with rainbow oxide inks and cut the sentiment from it. The sentiment was also cut from sticky back foam. The two were adhered together.
I decided to use the My Favorite Things You Take the Cake die to create this card. The sentiment was laid on the panel of ink blended rainbow cardstock and a rectangle die was selected that was just wider than the sentiment and the ink blended rainbow was cut down to fit the sentiment. Another panel of white cardstock was cut down with a rectangle die to be just smaller than an A2 cardbase and dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder. The embossed panel was added to the front of an A2 cardbase.
The sentiment was cut from the rainbow rectangle and also from sticky back foam. The backing paper was removed from the letters only and they were then carefully put in place. The foam was turned over and liquid glue was added to the letters only and then it was placed on the dry embossed card front. After a few moments to let the glue set the rainbow rectangle was carefully removed, leaving behind the die cut words.
This sentiment die has a small open space to the left of the word "the" and the CZ Designs Birthday Palooza stamp set has a small cake that first perfectly in this space. It was colored using Copic Markers. Sticky back foam was added to the back and it was adhered in place with liquid glue. The final embellishment was to add Ranger Crystal Stickles to the frosting and Gold Stickles to the flame of the candle.
