I found an envelop in my card file without a matching card and so I went looking for the stamp set that went with the envelop. During that process I ran across some lovely stamps from Woodware Craft and decided to make some cards using them.
I stamped this cosmos image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I wanted to Copic Color the image. I also colored the background behind the flowers with markers as well. I really like the black border around the flowers, but I wanted it to be smaller than an A2 cardbase so that I could add a black border behind the image. The thing about this image is that the ratio is not exactly 4-1/4" x 5". It is taller and thinner, so I cut the image with my trimmer to have the same width around the border that is part of the image. I fussy cut around a couple of the flower buds. The black mat was cut to be 1/8" larger than the image rectangle and adhered it behind with liquid glue.
I made the cardbase a little narrower than standard so that it had the same margins around all edges. T focal image was adhered with low loft foam tape.
Awhile ago I stamped a lot of different sentiments onto black cardstock and heat embossed them white. They were cut out using a label die and placed in the pocket behind the stamp. I pulled out one of these sentiments for this card and adhered it in place with low loft foam tape.
The final embellishment was to add Nuvo Crystal Drops to the center of the flowers.
