My best friend has a birthday on Sunday. Her favorite colors are green and purple. She is a crafter as well and I wanted to create a beautiful card for her. I decided to use the January Spellbinders bloom of the month, which has some beautiful layering flower images and leaves dies.
I pulled out some colored cardstock to use as a base for the flowers. Light pink for the small flowers and berries, lilac for the ruffled flowers, deep purple for the other large flowers, and green for the leaves. Each of them were ink blended at the center or base to add dimension. I decided to use gold mirror cardstock, along with back cardstock for the flower centers.
The flower used Denise's favorite color of purple, and there was green in the leaves, but I wanted to add a little more green to the card, so I went looking through my cardstock stash and found this pastel green. It was cut into a quarter sheet and then a cover leaf plate I had in my stash. It added the perfect visual interest for behind the flowers.
I arranged the flowers and leaves the way I liked them and then picked them up with Glad Press 'n Seal to hold them in place while I added liquid glue or foam tape to the back.
The sentiment was hot foiled previously and pulled out of my stash. The black and gold went beautifully with the flower centers. It was added to the lower right of the card with low loft foam tape.
