I like pulling out old dies and using them again. This card uses the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Cupcake and More dies.
I cut the glass from two different colors of pink cardstock and ink blended the edges to add some depth and dimension. They were adhered together with liquid glue.
The whipped cream was cut from white cardstock. The edges were ink blended with a light yellow I had left on my yellow blending brush. They were adhered together with liquid glue as well and then it was adhered to the milk shake glass with liquid glue.
I had seen were someone use the stripped layer of the candle die to add stripes to the straw. I did the same with the two pink cardstocks. The chocolate was cut from a scrap of dark brown cardstock and the edges were ink blended. However, it didn't leave a variation in color so I pulled out a dark Copic Markers to add some depth to the lines on the chocolate.
The cherry was cut from two colors of red and then stem from a scrap of brown. They were ink blended on the edges and adhered together with liquid glue.
Foam tape was added to the back of the milk shake. I had a leftover oval in my drawer and decided to use it for the background of the die cuts. It was ink blended with a light blue. Pink sprinkles were added to the whipped cream with liquid glue.
The sentiment was stamped with pink ink and then die cut out using the coordinating die. It was adhered to the back of the glass with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
I was making this card for the Bishopric of our church to give to a young lady turning sixteen. My husband picked the patterned paper for the front of the cardbase and the focal image oval was adhered in place with foam tape. Clean droplets were scattered around the image.
After the card was done I felt that the bold patterned paper needed to be softened a little so a thin frame of white cardstock was added to the panel. I also added the numbers "16" to the glass since this is her 16th birthday.
Glossy Accents were added to the cherry. When it was dry, highlights were added to the cherry and chocolate with a white gel pen.
