I young woman at church is having a birthday the first of July. I used to serve with an amazing group of girls and even though I no longer have that calling I love sending them birthday cards. This card is for Jillian. Her favorite colors are green, yellow, and orange, so those are the colors used on this card.
I stamp the sweet treats from Simon Says Stamp's Sweet Birthday and balloons from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bash with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I don't have the coordinating dies for the Sweet Birthday images, so I fussy cut them with scissors.
I wanted to add visual interest behind the images and cut a panel of white cardstock with the Your Next Stamp Confetti Panel. All the little pieces stayed in place so I decided to leave it that way. I ink blended the panel with the three colors, then to highlight the confetti I used the lights Copic Markers. Simon Says Stamp Big Mamma Foam Tape was added to the back and the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase.
Jillian is turning fourteen so I cut the numbers from gold mirror cardstock and adhered them to the largest balloon with liquid glue. Low loft foam squares were added to the back of the balloons and cupcakes. The macaroons were adhered together with liquid glue and then a combination of 1/8" and 1/16" foam squares was added to the back and then they were adhered over and below the cupcakes.
Because there was so much dimension on the macaroons the word "celebrate" was cut five times from white cardstock and then again from gold mirror cardstock. I cut the overhanging areas of the word off of the white layers so it would lie flat when adhered. They were adhered together with liquid glue and then the word was adhered below the macaroons. The final embellishment was to add a little Nuvo Glitter Drops to the frosting of both the cupcakes and macaroons.
