In my church the leadership is all done by volunteers. They serve because they love the Lord and they been asked to fulfill leadership calling for a ward congregation, which is determined by area boundaries. The leadership of the ward consists of several different individuals, but the main body is a Bishop and two counselors. The second counselor in our bishopric is moving out of the ward boundaries and I was asked to make a card that ward members could sign to express appreciation for all the hard work he and his wife have given to the wards. I don't usually do 5" x 7" cards, but felt that size would give more room for people to sign. I also created a couple of inserts to be used if needed.
Since I was making a larger card I went through my flower stamps and decided to use this large beautiful one from Altenew. Because of the size of the card I could use the entire stamp on the card.
I first stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, but left the stamp in the MISTI so that it could be stamped again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold. Embossing powder is hard on the tips of Copic Markers and so this two step process allows for coloring the image and still adding some pretty gold detail.
Once the coloring was complete the image was die cut using the coordinating die and Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back. A panel of white cardstock was cut to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" and dry embossing using the Stampin' Up Subtle Embossing Folder. With this size card you have to run it through twice, but it turned out lovely.
The sentiment was stamped with gold embossing powder in the lower right of the dry embossed panel.
Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the panel for a little dimension. When I went to place the panel on a cardbase I just didn't like the white on white look. So, I cut another white panel 4 7/8" x 6 7/8" and then used a small VersaMark Ink Cube to add gold embossing to the edges. The gold embossed panel was then adhered to the card front with liquid glue and the focal image was then adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam tape.
The final embellishment was to scatter some gold confetti around the flowers.
