My nephew and his wife had a baby girl last week. This is the card that I made in celebration of her birth. The image is a digital stamp from Star Jam.
I printed the cut little elephant image using a laser printer onto 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with registration marks for the Silhouette Cameo so that I could cut around the image. I pulled out my Copic Markers to color the image. In the photo that was sent to me from my sister of baby and mom when they got home they were both wearing green. So, I decided to incorporate some green in the image and colored the polka dots in the blanket green.
I decided to create a cloud background for the image since she is being delivered by balloon. I pulled out the My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Stencil, Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass Ink, and a blending brush and added soft, puffy clouds to a quarter sheet of white cardstock. The rectangle was then cut down using a scalloped rectangle.
I wanted to personalize the sentiment and pulled out the Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned scripty alphabet stamp set to stamp Breigha's name,, leaving enough room to the left for the rest of the sentiment. When I had the secondary sentiment stamped I realized it wasn't a complete phrase and had to stamp the welcome just above. If I had to do it again I would of centered the two secondary lines a little better, but it turned out okay. The cloud scalloped rectangle was adhered to a top folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive.
Strips of Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back of the image and then adhered to the cloud background. The final embellishment was to add Ranger Crystal Stickles to the balloon and polka dots on the blanket.
