The daughter of good friends is turning ten this week. Her favorite color is purple and this card is for her.
I stamped the cupcake liner onto some polka dot patterned paper and cut it out using the coordinating die. I had to use some white gel pen to cover up the polka dots in the center of the bow, but other than that I liked the way it turned out.
I stamped the cupcake, frosting, and candies were stamped with a Memento ink so that they could be colored with Copic Markers. They were then cut out using the coordinating dies and adhered together with liquid glue. Foam tape was added to the back for dimension.
The balloons were cut from patterned paper and a deep purple I had in my scraps. The number "10" was cut from gold mirror cardstock. The numbers were adhered to the top of the frosting and the balloons behind the cupcake.
The cupcake was laid on a scalloped rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment. Foam tape was added to the back of the cupcake and frosting and the other elements were adhered in place with liquid glue.
You can see the stamp that I use when mailing these cards. Since they have a lot of dimension I add additional postage and make sure they are hand sorted so they can arrive in good condition.
